Marketing Manager Resume Keywords: Strategy, Digital & Growth
Marketing manager resumes need to balance creative brand storytelling with hard performance metrics. The keywords that get you past ATS prove you can drive measurable business outcomes through marketing, not just run campaigns.
I have coached dozens of marketing professionals through career transitions. The ones who land interviews always anchor their story in metrics. Your resume keywords should tell the same story -- creative strategy backed by data.

Product Marketing Overlap Keywords
Marketing managers at B2B companies often take on product marketing responsibilities. Include these if they apply to your experience:
- Product launch
- Go-to-market strategy
- Competitive analysis
- Buyer personas
- Sales enablement
- Product positioning
- Win/loss analysis
- Feature messaging
Keyword Combinations That Work
These multi-word phrases carry the most ATS weight for marketing manager roles. Use them in your experience bullets and skills section:
- "Integrated marketing campaigns"
- "Multi-channel marketing strategy"
- "Data-driven marketing optimization"
- "Brand awareness and lead generation"
- "Marketing budget management"
- "Customer acquisition and retention"
- "Campaign performance analysis"
- "Revenue-generating marketing programs"
ATS Tips for Marketing Manager Resumes
List metrics in every bullet. Recruiters and ATS alike filter for marketing managers who quantify impact. Percentage improvements, dollar amounts, and volume numbers all increase resume relevance scores.
Include your full marketing tech stack. HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Google Analytics, SEMrush, and similar tools are explicit keyword matches. Do not assume they are implied by your job titles.
Use channel-specific terminology. "Paid media" is weaker than "Google Ads," "Meta Ads," and "LinkedIn Campaign Manager" listed separately. Channel-specific keywords match more job description terms.
Separate brand and performance keywords. Some roles lean heavily brand; others are performance-only. Read each JD and frontload the keyword category that matches the role emphasis.
Mirror the exact job title hierarchy. "Marketing Manager," "Senior Marketing Manager," and "Director of Marketing" are different ATS search terms. Use the exact title in your resume header and summary to match the role you are targeting.
Keyword Strategy
Balance Brand and Performance
Modern marketing managers need both. Include brand keywords (positioning, awareness, messaging) and performance keywords (CAC, conversion, pipeline). The best marketing resumes prove you can build brands that drive revenue.
Show Channel Expertise
Weak: "Managed digital marketing channels"
Strong: "Managed $500K annual paid media budget across Google Ads, Meta, and LinkedIn, reducing CAC by 35% while increasing MQL volume by 60%"
Include Marketing Tech Stack
Marketing is increasingly technical. List your full tech stack -- automation platform, CRM, analytics tools, and any specialized software. These are high-value ATS keywords.
Show Revenue Attribution
The highest-scoring marketing manager resumes connect marketing activity directly to revenue. "Pipeline generated," "revenue influenced," and "marketing-sourced revenue" are keywords that rank above engagement metrics in ATS systems designed to screen for revenue-accountable marketing leaders. If your campaigns generated $2M in pipeline, say it. If your SEO program drove 40% of inbound leads, quantify it. Marketing managers who demonstrate revenue attribution get screened in for senior roles that pure brand marketers miss. Include at least two revenue-impact bullets in every role on your resume. Marketing managers who cannot show pipeline or revenue contribution get filtered out early — even when their campaign execution keywords are strong. The revenue attribution story is what separates marketing leaders from marketing executors in ATS screening. Make it explicit, quantified, and front-loaded in every role description.
